It has been such a busy term in the Learning Hub, and we have learnt SO much about the Human Body! We were fortunate to have Dr. Catherine Buyck come in and spend time with us to share her expertise, and the children were offered the opportunity to examine & touch some real animal organs. We were all mesmerised with the sheep lungs & were fascinated with how light and soft they were to touch. We inserted a plastic tube & blew air into the lungs to demonstrate how our own lungs work & that was really cool! A really BIG thank you to the team at Island Bay Butchery for our regular supply of organs, and for sourcing the lungs for us - they were amazing!
There are some REALLY exciting inquiries coming up for term 2 and I really can't wait to get started! We will be transforming the Learning Hub into a Science Lab set up with lots of really cool experiments - watch this space. We are also working on getting some Professional Scientists to come into the Learning Hub to share their knowledge & expertise with us. If you are interested in sharing your Scientific knowledge & expertise with us then please do make contact with me, I would love to hear from you!
Wishing you all a fun and relaxing Easter break and school holidays!
